Arkansas added 1,750 new Covid-19 cases in the statistics, the highest number of active cases recorded in almost a year, report

Arkansas – As the Omicron continues to surge across Arkansas, all the Covid-19 related numbers are increasing, according to Arkansas Department of Health.
In the latest daily Covid-19 report issued on Monday, the state of Arkansas added a total of 1,750 new Covid-19 cases now reaching a total of 574,572 cases since the start of the pandemic.
In the same daily report, ADH reported 25 deaths and the total number of Covid-19 related deaths now reaches 9,221.
What sounds off the alarm is the record high positivity rate. According to ADH, Arkansas reached 23.8% positivity rate in the last seven days. This is the highest 7-day positivity rate since the start of the pandemic.
Currently, there are 27,162 actives cases which is 585 more compared to the day before. This is the highest number of active cases in almost a year.
The same report indicates 722 people are hospitalized, 39 more compared to yesterday. A total of 115 people are on ventilator support, which is 17 more compared to yesterday.
Pulaski, Craighead and Saline are the counties with the highest number of cases adding 333, 219 and 79 cases respectively.

Our state’s positivity rate in the last seven days is a record-high 23.8%. We expect record-high new cases this week, so while we continue to work and live, get fully vaccinated and protect yourself and your community.
