At least 10k Arkansans have now died due to COVID

Little Rock, Arkansas — Arkansas reported 1,931 new COVID cases in the state, along with 48 more deaths on Saturday.
Arkansas reached record-high hospitalizations at 1,819 during the peak of the omicron variant last week. But that number continues to decline as well as active cases.
The state has officially surpassed more than 10,000 deaths as a result of the virus.
A total of 10,025 people have died in Arkansas due to the virus and over 1.55 million have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus.
“Active cases have declined by more than half since last week, and hospitalizations continue to decline. Vaccines are up as well. Let’s continue these trends in the upcoming week,” Gov. Hutchinson said on Saturday.
