Little Rock Compassion Center offering shelter from the heat
Little Rock, Arkansas – In the midst of the scorching heat, the Little Rock Compassion Center wants to provide a space for people in need to cool down, unwind, and hydrate.
According to leaders, they house roughly seventy individuals during the day and over a hundred at night, all of them seeking refuge and cold air, just like Aaron Halpain.
“You don’t have to worry about dying of a heat stroke or something with the temperatures being the way they’ve been,” Halpain stated while he was still at the center.
According to center leaders, more population means increased demand for resources.
“The expense goes considerably up—more water, more baths, more electricity—at LR Compassion Center, according to CEO William Holloway.
Holloway stated that his facility provides a safe location for individuals to go during a period like today when it’s impossible to escape the heat.
“Many of these elderly people would be sleeping outside if it weren’t for shelters like this,” Holloway stated.
Halpain stated that even though he has only been there for a week, he is grateful for the experience.
He claimed, “You know it’s free to stay; they don’t charge you anything.” “It’s been a wonderful experience and they are genuinely wonderful people.”
