Man charged with arson of two coffee shops in North Little Rock

Little Rock, Arkansas — After two fires at separate locations of The Grind Coffee Bistro in North Little Rock, a man has been arrested and charged with arson.
On March 11, a 48-year-old, Trent Tyrone Smith, was arrested and charged in a criminal complaint. Smith was arraigned Monday before the United States Magistrate Judge J. Thomas Ray.
According to The Little Rock Fire Department, on March 3 after deliberately being set on fire, they responded to calls from both Little Rock coffee shop locations.
Smith has been identified as the owner’s former boyfriend.
An investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives with assistance from the Little Rock Fire Department Marshal’s Office.
It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Benecia Moore.
