The hospital celebrates 125 years by opening a pop-up museum
Jonesboro, Arkansas – A hospital’s significant milestone was celebrated with a touching ceremony that brought people from all over Jonesboro together.
This month, St. Bernards Healthcare celebrated its 125th anniversary.
In celebration, they unveiled a pop-up museum in addition to banners highlighting the hospital’s past.
Numerous significant objects that contributed to the hospital’s current state were housed in the museum.
The Olivetan Benedictine Sisters’ prioress, Mother Mary Claire Bezner, attributes their current status to all of their predecessors and current members.
“Because this is a communal hospital, we had a lot of different people from different areas represented to help celebrate with us,” Bezner explained. “Our hospital is this; this is not our hospital.”
According to her, the hospital will host a 1900 Gala on January 25 as part of its ongoing community service initiatives.
Harold Copenhaver, the mayor of Jonesboro, and the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce were there.
