Little Rock, Arkansas – For the forthcoming total solar eclipse in April, Lost Forty Brewing has created a beer especially for it.

A Helles Bock-style beer called Ar’clipse of the Heart was created in association with the Simons Foundation for their “In the Path of Totality” project.

150 cases of the beer are intended for the taproom, while the remaining 800 cases will be distributed around central Arkansas.

“We wanted to brew something that was really approachable,” said Cassie Millington, brand manager at Lost Forty Brewing. “The whole idea behind this ‘In the Path of Totality’ initiative is that this is an educational tool.”

This project is being supported by several breweries around the country that are situated in the path of the total solar eclipse, and they are offering their interpretation of a solar eclipse beer.

“Each brewery was going to make their own style of beer, but we would have a unifying can design,” Millington said. “So if you look at our can, that timestamp on the front, 1:52 p.m., each brewery has their own individual timestamp for when they will be in the path of totality.”

On April 8, the day of the eclipse, Lost Forty Brewing will open at 11 a.m. and serve the specially brewed beer on draft while handing out glasses donated by the Simons Foundation.
